A Pair of Gloves.  Cold hands make it hard
to work and if exposed, may become
frostbitten.
Winter Clothing.  A hat, jacket, socks and
extra pants are crucial to preserving body
heat.
Hunting/Skiing Hand Warmers.  To put
inside your gloves, shoes or coat.
Cell Phone, CB or Emergency Calling Device.
Flashlight.  Supply it with fresh batteries.
A Least a Half Tank of Gas.  During the winter keep the tank on the full side, so you have fuel to run
the heater if stranded.
Water.  Even though it’s cold, your body needs to remain hydrated.
High-Energy Foods.  Nuts and high-energy bars are among the high-energy foods you may pack for
emergencies.
During cold weather, your car is the last place you want to be stranded, but I hope these suggestions
leave you prepared for just such an emergency.
How To Stop Back Pain
It’s not unusual to experience lower back pain, especially if you’ve been doing a new activity you aren’t
accustomed to, like lifting heavy boxes or gardening.  Lower back pain doesn’t have to spell long-term
trouble, if you take these steps:
Stop what you’re doing.  Many of us continue doing whatever triggered
the back pain in order to finish up the basketball game or the yard work. 
Don’t ignore the pain. 
Relax.  We tend to tense up when back pain hits, but relaxing will loosen
your muscles.
Assume the position.  Get into the most comfortable position you can.  No
single position is best, so experiment carefully to find the most comfortable. 
Remain in the position until the worst of the pain is over (usually about 15 minutes).
Don’t go to bed.  Seems counterintuitive, but bed rest does more harm than good if you’ve suffered
