How To Stay Safe When Youre Traveling
While you and your family enjoy taking in the sights during your vacation free from the cares and
stresses of daily life, its important to remember not to let down your guard. Tourists make
tempting targets for thieves. Often lost or distracted, weighed down with bags, kids, cameras, plane
tickets and money, travelers can become victims of crime in the blink of an eye.
Here are some travel safety tips to go over with the family before leaving home:
Do all you can to blend in with the crowd.
Dont display attention-getting items like expensive jewelry, cameras and bags.
Check maps before you go out. Map gazing in public is a dead giveaway that you are a tourist.
Stick to well-lighted, well-traveled streets at
all times.
Always lock your car when its parked, even
if the stop is brief. Keep valuables out of
sight, locked in the trunk. Dont advertise
your tourist status by leaving maps and
guidebooks on the seat or dashboard.
Stick together and keep an eye on your
children at all times. Make sure the kids
know the name and address of where youre
staying, and teach them what to do if they get
lost. Have an agreed-upon meeting place in
case you get separated.
Make sure your kids know not to accept rides
or favors from strangers.

The Benefits Of Broccoli
If you need a reason to eat broccoli, here it is: Broccoli can kill the bacteria that causes ulcers,
reducing the risk of stomach cancer.
Broccoli contains the highest amount of sulforaphane, a chemical that eradicates the bacteria
Helicobactor pylori. Most experts now agree that ulcers are caused by these bacteria, not by stress
and too much acidity in the stomach.
Physicians will often prescribe antibiotics for patients with ulcers. But studies are showing that H.
pylori can hide in the cell lining of the stomach or can become drug-resistant. In fact, 20% of ulcer
patients wont improve with antibiotics or will have negative side effects from the drugs.
